Traditional Braces
A healthier bite. A more confident smile. Braces can straighten crowded teeth and help correct the way your teeth and jaws fit together.
Why consider braces?
Straighter teeth are easier to clean. Correcting crowding and overlapping teeth can help reduce the risk of cavities and gum problems, while improving confidence in your smile.
When your bite needs attention
A jaw that clicks, closes unevenly or sits too far forward may need assessment. Other signs include uneven tooth wear, difficulty chewing, speech problems, or regularly biting your cheeks or tongue.
Understanding bite problems +
Malocclusion means the teeth do not meet correctly when you bite. Common types include crossbite, overbite, underbite and open bite.
- Class 1: the upper teeth slightly overlap the lower teeth—the usual bite relationship.
- Class 2: the upper jaw or teeth sit further forward than the lower jaw or teeth.
- Class 3: the lower jaw or teeth sit further forward than the upper jaw or teeth.
Bite problems can run in families. Prolonged thumb sucking, dummy or bottle use, mouth breathing, injuries, impacted teeth and some developmental conditions can also affect the teeth and jaws.

Invisalign (Clear Braces)
The clear alternative to braces
Smile confidently with Invisalign
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move your teeth into position. Each aligner is slightly different, guiding your smile through treatment.
We offer a free consultation to answer your questions. Call 09 415 9090 to book.

Made for everyday life
- Discreet: clear aligners are barely noticeable.
- Removable: take them out for meals and special occasions.
- Comfortable: an alternative to fixed brackets and wires, including for people who play sports or musical instruments.
- Fewer adjustments: no broken brackets or loose wires.
Easy to keep clean
Remove your aligners to brush and floss as usual, making it easier to clean between teeth and around the gum line.

Early Intervention
The right timing makes a difference.
For many children, orthodontic treatment begins when their adult teeth have come through, often around ages 11–13. Some bite problems may benefit from assessment and treatment earlier, around ages 8–9.
If you notice an overbite, underbite or other concerns, we can monitor your child’s jaw development and discuss the right time to begin.
